The challenge

UNIJA, one of the region's leading accounting and payroll service providers, runs payroll for hundreds of client companies — and the critical inputs arrive the hard way. Sick-leave records must be pulled client by client from a government portal behind physical USB-token authentication. Loan garnishments, enforcement orders, protected-account notices, and tax cards arrive as PDFs on a shared inbox from dozens of senders — banks, courts, tax authorities, clients — each type with its own fields, rules, and exceptions, each processed by hand into the payroll system. Every document is a small manual task; together they consume a large share of the accountants' working month.

The solution

Margins has built an AI operations layer for UNIJA's payroll practice. AI document processing reads each incoming document - recognizing the type, extracting the employee, amounts, accounts, and legal parameters, and resolving which client company it belongs to even when the document doesn't say - then delivers structured data straight into the payroll ERP, with the original archived for audit. Portal collection runs automatically on each client's payroll calendar instead of by hand, and routine CRM administration is automated end to end. Accountants stay in control of every exception; the repetitive reading, typing, and clicking disappears. The design goal is simple: the same team serves significantly more clients, with fewer errors and a full audit trail.
